The Birth of the World Malayalee Council (WMC)
Founding in New Jersey – A Vision for Unity
The World Malayalee Council was officially established on July 3, 1995, in New Jersey, USA, during the inaugural World Convention of Non-Resident Malayalees. The founders envisioned a global, non-sectarian, and non-political organization that would represent the aspirations and achievements of Malayalees living beyond India’s borders.
Their vision was clear—to build a strong bridge between the homeland and the global Malayalee diaspora through collaboration, cultural exchange, and humanitarian service.
